Ireland Here I Come!!

Ireland

I have often wondered, sometimes painstakingly, what God’s will is for my life. I’ve had ideas of perhaps being a Veterinarian, or a dancer in some famous company, but none of that stuck with my ambitions as being possible realities; there was something else forming in my heart. It was not an ambition, nor was it a dream. It was, and is, a longing. That longing is for the eternal relationship with God, through His Son, Jesus Christ. It is the longing that every person feels in there heart, whether they realize the source of it or not. “He has…set eternity in the hearts of men”(Ecclesiastes 3:11).

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will”(Romans 12:1-2).

I finally gave in to the tugging God was doing on my heart. As I did, possibility after possibility came pouring into my midst and I realized that God was getting me ready to serve Him indefinitely in whatever my hands find to do.  His will for my life is not yet completely known to me, for He reveals such things as we are ready for them. I believe, however, that after these initial steps beginning this January, God will open even more doors, revealing opportunities to serve even beyond anything I can imagine now. He may use my skills as a dancer, as a musician or perhaps there is a completely different skill or gift He has yet to reveal.

My first step on this path begins this January in Nothern Ireland. I will be taking what is called a Discipleship Training School, a school offered all over the world in many different places. It is called the University of the Nations (U of N).  The people dedicated to this school and the students that go are incredibly ambitious for letting God have reign with their lives and sacrificing everything for His sake.  I have never met people as passionate as those who go to this school.

My Discipleship Training School begins this January and is six months long. It will help me develop a deeper Christian character and firm Biblical roots by walking daily with Him. It will also teach me to rely wholly on God while doing His will. Half of the school is spent in lectures and the other half on a field assignment in another country putting what we learned into practical application. The school costs approximately $6,000 and the first half is due up front. Afterwards, I hope to continue my training at U of N possibly in the School of Dance.
